Following research visits by Pilar Caamano from the Grupo Integrada de Ingeneria (GII) at the HEAL laboratory in Hagenberg earlier this year, Michael Affenzeller, Erik Pitzer, and Andreas Beham have been visiting the GII in their laboratories in Ferrol, Spain last week.

We would like to congratulate our colleague Stephan Hutterer as he today successfully defended his PhD thesis! Stephan joined us a couple of years ago and is doing research in smart grids and energy networks. As one of the milestones in his young career was the first place in the GECCO 2012 industrial challenge. The PhD is well earned!
