We would like to congratulate our colleague Stephan Hutterer as he today successfully defended his PhD thesis! Stephan joined us a couple of years ago and is doing research in smart grids and energy networks. As one of the milestones in his young career was the first place in the GECCO 2012 industrial challenge. The PhD is well earned!

After 5 years of intensive work the Ressel Center Heureka! finishes.

Michael Affenzeller has been this years general chair of the Modeling & Applied Simulation (MAS) conference which is held in conjunction with further conferences in the frame of the International Multidisciplinary Modeling & Simulation Multiconference (I3M). The venue of the conference was set to be the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens, Greece.
