AI4Lab2Plant aims to improve the practicability of machine learning algorithms and models in an industrial environment. To this end, the consortium is investigating the feasibility using the coating process of continuous casting molds in the steel industry. By combining innovative algorithms and domain knowledge, the aim is to develop prediction models for coating properties that not only work in the laboratory, but also in large-scale production facilities. The methods developed are to be published as open source software, thus ensuring low-threshold access for further applications.
