Our colleague Marcel Salvenmoser was invited to Charles University in Prague to give a lecture in Martin Holeňa’s Machine Learning and Modelling Seminar. In his talk, he presented recent work on using evolutionary algorithms to optimize and explore the image generation with diffusion models. The seminar is jointly organized by the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University and the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The visit was also a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Prague in spring. We were especially happy to spend a few beautiful Easter days in our neighbouring country, surrounded by historic buildings, lively streets, and festive Easter markets.
